what are the healthy ingredients used to make this magic energising smoothie?
Kale and spinach both contain high levels of vitamin K and are good sources of plant-based calcium which is vital for healthy bones and teeth.
As well as that they also contain vitamin C, E and Selenium which help boost the immune system.
Lemon and ginger are included within this juice to give it a fresh, zingy kick, both are rich sources of vitamin C and antioxidants and are linked to reducing pain associated with inflammation, arthritis and even headache. Ginger is also great at reducing hunger.
Ingredients:
Makes enough for 2 glasses or 1 large tumbler.
3 handfuls of spinach
2 handfuls of kale
broccoli offcuts (stalks and leaves) or swap for half a cucumber
2 sticks of celery
1 inch of ginger
1 apple
juice of 1/2 a lemon
1 cup coconut water
Simply juice everything together, sandwiching the spinach and kale between the other ingredients and adding the liquids in at the end. Enjoy!
